BONTÉ30 began with a story long before the brand itself.
Chapter I
The first necklace
My mother has been a jewellery designer for nearly 30 years, so jewellery has always been part of my life. When I was sixteen, she gave me my first diamond necklace. It was simple, but it meant everything to me.
I have worn it almost every day since (and no, not because I was too lazy to take it off). To school, to sleep, and across the world when I moved overseas. It has travelled with me through many chapters of my life.
That necklace showed me that jewellery can hold more than beauty. It can hold memories.
Chapter II
Behind the counter
It was working in a jewellery store that made everything click. I watched people come in, sometimes uncertain, sometimes emotional, searching for a piece that could hold the weight of something important. A milestone. A relationship. A person they loved.
Jewellery often marks the moments that matter most.
Chapter III
Designing our own
At the same time, I struggled to find jewellery that matched my aesthetic: delicate, timeless and meaningful, without being excessively expensive. My mother encouraged me to start designing my own, and that was how BONTÉ30 began.
That first necklace still sits at my collarbone most days. Every piece I design is made with the same intention: small enough to wear every day, meaningful enough to keep forever.
Bonté means kindness in French, an idea we come back to in every piece of jewellery we make.
